When it helps

You are replacing laptops, returning leased equipment, closing a server room or sending drives for recycling. Client data, contracts and passwords stay on them. Moving files to the bin or formatting does not erase them, and GDPR requires that the data cannot be recovered from the hardware.

How we do it

Intake & inventory

We take the drives in on a record - type, serial number, quantity. From that moment we keep chain of custody.

Choosing the method

We match the method to the drive: one for spinning HDDs, another for SSDs and NVMe, another for the highest destruction level.

Erasure or destruction

Software overwrite and secure-erase at your site, or physical destruction by a certified subcontractor under our supervision.

Certificate

We issue a certificate for each drive: method, DIN level, operator, date.

Electronic waste is handed on for disposal in line with regulations (WEEE).

Where we draw the line

Formatting is not enough - especially on SSDs, where overwriting is unreliable. That is why we match the method to the drive, not the other way round.
Software cannot clean a damaged or unreadable drive - physical destruction is then the only route.
The highest physical destruction levels are carried out by a certified ITAD subcontractor; we keep supervision, chain of custody and issue the certificate.
